Airborne Survey:

The Airborne Survey is a high value sky brightness and LAN monitoring tool. It is unique in its ability to provide high data density observations of sky brightness for zenith points over a large geographical region. It is a relatively fast process, enabling the capture of many thousand data points over hundreds of square miles in just a few flights of approximately 3-hour duration. Thus, we can get the geographical coverage desired in the few hours between astronomical twilight and wide spread local nighttime shutdown of lighting.

Our Airborne surveys offer a rich simultaneous data stream including:

  • Up/down looking photometry
  • Multi-spectral photometry
  • High resolution two-dimensional imaging
  • GPS position
  • Altitude
  • Magnetic heading
  • Roll/pitch data qualification
